The local picture

What homes here need

Houston's defining condition is humidity, not just heat. Air conditioning here is asked to remove moisture as much as it is asked to lower temperature, and a system that was sized purely on square footage often short-cycles: it hits the thermostat setting quickly, shuts off, and never runs long enough to dry the air. That is why so many Houston homes feel clammy at 74 degrees. We look at equipment sizing, duct condition and airflow together rather than swapping a unit and hoping.

Moisture also drives the rest of the work here. Roofing details, flashing and attic ventilation matter more in a climate where wet decking does not get a chance to dry out, and Gulf storm season adds wind-driven rain to the list. In the newer master-planned areas around Katy, Cypress, Sugar Land and The Woodlands the homes are tighter and more consistent, so problems tend to show up in ductwork and ventilation; in older Houston neighborhoods the envelope itself usually needs attention first.

Questions

Houston FAQs

Why does my Houston home feel humid even when the AC is running?
Often the system is oversized or the ductwork is restricting airflow, so it cools quickly without running long enough to pull moisture out. We evaluate sizing, duct condition and airflow before recommending equipment.
Do you serve the suburbs west and north of Houston?
Yes — Katy, Cypress, Spring, The Woodlands, Sugar Land, Pearland and League City are all part of our Houston coverage.
Can you inspect a roof after a storm?
Yes. We document what we find in writing with photographs so you have an accurate record of condition. Coverage decisions are always your insurer's to make.
